Our Support
Helping children and families through cancer with care and hope.
Pediatric cancers affect the entire family including the siblings. Parents often feel shocked and overwhelmed following their child’s cancer diagnosis. We want you to know that it is common to struggle with your mental health when dealing with a cancer diagnosis. But there are people who can support you during this time and things you can do to help yourself. Parent`s emotional wellbeing is vital to maintain the morale and self confidence of the child.
Vatsalya means parental love and affection, a tender ,nurturing love from a parent to their child
Here in Vatsalya support group , we are there to help the family members to cope with the diagnosis and guide you to understand the different treatment options and how to handle the child during this entire process. This group includes doctors ,parents whose child has faced the same problems, cancer survivors as well as counsellors . Different age groups and different type of cancers have different problems which require unique solutions. We are trying to bridge the gap by introducing the parents to the similar profile parents who had overcome those problems in the recent past. Parents and kids feel more confident and the acceptance of the treatment is better when they speak to the families who had gone through the similar situation rather than a counsellor.
